Professor Yen-hsi Li of this department guided students I-min Tsou Hsin-yu Huang Chia-wen Tseng Chih-ling Chang Yi-yun Liang Jui-yi Shen and Cheng-chih Teng to participate in the 15th College Student Rural Revitalization Competition organized by the Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation Ministry of Agriculture with the theme “Huashan Leisure Agriculture Area Development Association Gukeng Township Yunlin County – Era of Stone Craft Revival.”
During the team’s visit to Huashan Village, under the guidance of community leader Yi-hsiang Liao, they gained an in-depth understanding of the community’s development context and local landscape. Among them, the traditional stone crafting technique, as an important local cultural asset, was once widely used in community construction but is now facing the risk of disappearing due to industrial transformation. This project aims to promote the reappearance and inheritance of this craft through active youth participation, injecting new momentum into the preservation and innovation of local culture.
The students are committed to integrating local history with innovative craftsmanship to create a unique cultural and creative experience camp. Through hands-on practice and interaction, more people can rediscover the value of local culture. The activities and products combine traditional materials with modern creativity, allowing participants not only to observe but also to “participate personally and experience firsthand.”
