Practical Off-Campus Field Trip for Agricultural Recreation Sites – NTU Experimental Forest Woodworking Factory

This course leads students to visit a woodworking factory, providing an in-depth understanding of modern woodworking equipment such as sawmills, wood drying kilns, and CNC processing machines. Students also visit the NTU Experimental Forest. Through this off-campus teaching activity, students not only learn forestry-related knowledge but also gain space for creative expression.

In this course, students of the department created three innovative wooden facilities for senior-friendly exercise:

  1. Health Ark
Designed for the elderly, it provides a safe and stable exercise space to enhance coordination and balance. The use of natural wood creates a warm atmosphere, promoting both physical and mental well-being.
  2. Wooden Battle Rope Training Equipment
Incorporating the concept of battle rope training, this equipment uses wooden weighted ropes to provide high-intensity interval training, enhancing muscular endurance and explosive power. It is also adapted to meet the needs of elderly users by adjusting weight and structure.
  3. Two-Person Maze Turntable
Combining a shoulder rehabilitation device with a maze design and integrating natural ecological elements, it enhances children’s interactive experience while training upper limb coordination, achieving both education and entertainment.

These works demonstrate students’ innovation and practicality. From design to implementation, attention to detail is emphasized, successfully creating diverse health-oriented exercise facilities.
